As a born and bred Cali girl, Tawnya found a love of snow early as a kid shredding the slopes of Mammoth Mountain. While she started on two planks, intrigued by the popularity of snowboarding she decided to attempt sliding sideways and never looked back. Once she had that golden certificate in hand, with a bachelor's degree in journalism, Tawnya ventured north to Lake Tahoe, where she continued her pursuit as a snowboard writer and has been featured in publications like TransWorld, SNOWBOARD Magazine, Cooler Mag, and Epic Life. She founded Tahoe Snowboard Magazine in 2009, co-authored a book with Burton's own Hannah Teter called "Mastering Snowboarding" , and self-published a children's storybook, "Sammy The Shredder".
