Fall is for Cross Training

It’s been a pretty awesome summer and now that it’s winding down and fall is upon us, it’s time to hit the hammer and get ready for another winter! But since we still have a few more warm days, we have got to take advantage of them. Cross training is in full effect and at the moment consists of jumping on the trampoline, mountain biking and skateboarding.

I feel that these three are the best cross trainers for snowboarding and staying in optimal health because they are activities that work the body and mind in extreme ways. I have been jumping on the trampoline since I was 5 years old and skateboarding since I was 11, and I attribute my young success in snowboarding to a foundation of these well balanced hobbies. It seems that most pro athletes have a background in other sports as well, ones that help shape them in working to a professional level. It’s not just about being good at one thing, its about being diverse in a lot of areas that often take us out of our comfort level. Cause once we’re out of those concrete walls of whats attainable, then magic happens.

I do each of these activities at least once a week, and Woodward sure makes it easy to get in the trampoline and skateboard sessions. If you have one near by, take advantage of it! If not, get creative. Find out what’s near you and check it out. It’s time to crack the whip on your own ass and get out there and participate in fun forms of exercises ;)

Woodward at Tahoe has six olympic sized trampolines, an indoor concrete skatepark, foam pits and more!
