The Opening of Woodward Tahoe

On Saturday June 9, the highly anticipated Woodward Tahoe opened at Boreal Resort, near Truckee, California. From Tony Hawk and Todd Richards to Hannah Teter and Zak Hale, heavy hitters in the action sports world collided to celebrate the momentous occasion. Besides the 33,000 square foot facility complete with an indoor skatepark, 3 foam pits, 6 Olympic sized trampolines, Skatelite ramps built to practice snowboard tricks off of, and a digital media center to check out, Boreal opened the mountain to the public. The park crew pushed all the snow making a sick run full of fun jibs and mini jumps, and a bag jump. They even had the 22 foot pipe open. It was insane. So many peeps were out lapping the park. The smiles were endless and the stoke factor was at an all-time high all day.

There were pro skate and BMX demos throughout the day, and the kids (young and old) took advantage of bouncing on the trampolines. It was all-in-all a very exciting day for the Tahoe basin. The opening of the new snow-facility is going to be yet another exceptional training ground for riders of all ages. Woodward Tahoe has snow camps through July. This is the first of its kind complex in the area and the ability to ride through the summer is going to be a major advantage for those who want an option outside of Oregon and Canada. Congrats to Woodward and thanks for letting me be a part of the historical day.
