Hello Burton Girls
Posted on by Amanda Wormann

Girls rule, boys drool. Not really but that one goes out to all the men, because I know you’re reading this too. And I can’t blame you. Burton Girls is a little project we’ve been working on for the past couple of months, carefully handpicking a group of ridiculously rad ladies that have a lot of good stuff to say. Like you, most of us snowboard – but there’s a lot more to us and that’s what this community is all about.

What can you expect from me? Well, I like long walks on the beach and a stiff Jack and Ginger. Beyond that, I also am really into shopping and because I’m the Social Media Manager at Burton I get to spend a lot of time on the internet. So I plan on sharing some snippets of fashion and other cool buys that I come across – some affordable, some not, and some that will make you justify their purchase regardless.

I like music. And although I grew up in New Jersey, I’m into much more than Bruce Springsteen but we all know he’s the original Boss. On my playlist right now is a mashup of The Felice Brothers, Florence and the Machine, Deertick, and a really awesome mixtape by Skratch Bastid (free download!) After an 18 year hiatus, I decided last year that I would try and play piano again and let me tell you, learning things as an adult is much, much harder than learning as a kid. Some day if I figure it out, I’ll be jamming with Susie and Anne-Marie in our all-girl cover band, Cover Girl. Until then, I’m just their hype girl.

Not to make this intro sound any more cliché, but I’m also really into food. I like making it and eating it and plan on sharing a few of my vegetarian recipes here on Burton Girls.

What can I say? The job has it’s perks. Sundance 2011 at Park City with Penn Badgley, Anne-Marie, my friend Janice, and Danny Davis.

I work for the coolest brand in the planet. They don’t even pay me to say that. Working on the PR team at Burton, I get to travel all over the world and go to some pretty cool events. I’d love to take you all with me but since I can’t fit you in my Wheelie Double Deck (way too many shoes), I plan on sharing my experiences with you here. If there’s anything you want to see more of or less of, let me know. Your wish is my command. Or whatever they say.
