The Ultimate Mother’s Day Gift Guide
Posted on by Amanda Wormann

Nothing says Mother’s Day like “I don’t need anything” but we all know that’s just not an option. Moms are the best and if any hallmark holiday deserves some celebrating, it’s this one. Here’s a few gift ideas for the well-deserving mamas in your life.

Pamper her (with love)
Moms are giving and selfless and it’s rare that they take the time to do something special for themselves. That’s where we come in. These gifts are a collection of things mom would rarely get for herself, but are a nice way to slow down and give her body and mind the treatment it deserves.

Spa Day. Massage, facial, pedicure…nothing says relaxation like a day at the spa. Head over to SpaFinder.com for listings and reviews of spas in your area.

A plane ticket. I know what your thinking…this one is expensive. But it doesn’t have to be. Long weekends can be your best friend – take off a Friday and Monday and take mom on a quick getaway. Did you know that Panama is just a 4 hour and 30 minute plane ride from New York? Go for it.

Love on the Run
With just a few shopping days until Mother’s Day, I know what you’re thinking. How am I supposed to order those other gifts and ship them to mom by mother’s day? Here are some gift ideas that will deliver themselves.

Heidi’s Heavenly Cookies. Years ago one of my good friends sent me a package from Heidi’s. I can honestly say the cookies were the best I’ve ever had and have since used them for all different occasions. The cookies are buttery and delicious…you might as well ship yourself a package while your at it.

Flowers. Never underestimate the power of flowers. Yes, this one may sound like a cop out…but flowers are pretty and a great way to add a little sunshine to your moms day. There’s lot of services out there – 1–800-flowers, FTD, ProFlowers – you name it, they got your back.

Handmade Treasures
Every since we could pick up a crayon, our moms fell in love with everything we’ve ever created. There’s something to making gifts by hand – taking the time to handcraft a special token of our love is a gift she’ll treasure forever.

Homemade Body Scrub. This one is an easy and quick DIY gift that will leave your mom feeling soft and smelling sweet. I whipped up some of my own last summer, get the how-to here.

Pantry Soap. Make pretty and fragrant homemade soaps with the help of Martha Stewart.

Tub Tea. Fragrant and beautiful, this DIY gift idea from Martha Stewart is a must-do.

The Everyday Gift
There’s something to the everyday gift – you know, those cliché options that are cliché for a reason. The purse, the suitcase, the jewelry. You see, these things are important because it’s something they can use, well, everyday. And that means she’s reminded of you every time she clasps her necklace around her neck or grabs her purse to head out the door.

You can never go wrong with a nice handbag and since it’s spring, mom probably needs a refresh. Here’s a few of my mom-friendly favorites for this season.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Satchel $458, Tory Burtch Satchel $395, Marc by Marc Jacobs Satchel $428

Burton Wheelie Flight Deck. This is a great choice for moms who do a lot of short travel – the Flight Deck is big enough to fit a bunch of clothes and shoes, but small enough to fit in the overhead. And let’s not forget about the laptop compartment. The best part about Burton luggage is you never have to guess which one is yours…but don’t worry, if you’re mom is more conservative this comes in a variety of colors including good ol’ fashioned black.

Hand-stamped Family Necklace. Add your names to this beautifully hand stamped necklace and your mom can keep you by her side wherever she goes. Available on Etsy.
